Rockport's Rockin' Texas New Construction

The City of Rockport, located 30 miles northeast of Corpus Christi on Texas Highway 35, is the County Seat of Aransas County. Surrounded on three sides by the waters of Aransas, Copano and Port bays, a variety of outdoor activities are Rockport's appeal to tourists as well as local citizens. The charming fishing village of Rockport has been a favorite coastal hideaway for wealthy Texans since the 1800's.

A New England fishing village on the Texas Coast, this charming town has plenty to offer any family looking for a good time: quaint little shops, rows of fishing and sailboats, leaning windswept oak trees, fresh seafood, the famous "Big Tree" and whooping cranes.

Windswept oak trees, permanently bent by prevailing winds off the water, bow their welcome and are a picturesque sight. The towns of Rockport and Fulton offer a special charm, the kind of charm that has led many prominent artists to make this area their home. In fact, it´s been said that Rockport-Fulton has the largest per capita percentage of artists of any community in the country. As a result, the area boasts one of the best collections of art galleries anywhere.

The same seascape that attracts artists also attracts the most famous winter visitors, the great Whooping Cranes. The majestic birds mesmerize and capture the hearts of all who travel from around the world to see them. Standing over five feet tall, the stately white Whooping Crane is an endangered species and the nearby Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is their winter home. Theirs is a story of survival—the wild flock numbered only 18 in 1938, but with successful conservation efforts, they now number around 200.

The small town atmosphere as well as the artistic community, bird watching, fishing and other water activities make this area a special location for those looking to spend a peaceful vacation or the perfect place to settle down.  Many new developments are under construction at the moment looking to fulfill the demand for a piece of this enchanting Texas Coast.  Many new retirees are looking to take advantage of this affordable waterfront land.
