Baby Boomers are still making a sizable impact on the economy of the United States, along with their children. These two generations affect the consumer market in almost every industry and marketing is even crafted specifically for them. In Real Estate Weekly last fall, they were referred as "the greatest economic force in the history of the United States."
Baby Boomers and Echo Boomers are both major demographic groups affecting the real estate market. Real Estate Weekly has reported that as Echo Boomers "continue to move into adulthood, they are also suddenly becoming a strong buying and renting force. There are 80 million Echo Boomers in the United States, roughly one third of the population, who currently invest $170 billion in real estate each year."
Their buying power, combined with that of their parents is a force that will continue to grow and evolve throughout the years. Baby Boomers are less affected by rising costs and higher interest rates than other generations and they will pass this stability on to their children. The Echo Boomers will continue their trend of purchasing newly constructed homes and the Baby Boomers will continue buying second homes and planning for retirement. This will keep the real estate market balanced and with steady growth.
With all the Baby Boomers searching for retirement communities and relocating to warmer climates, existing reliable good health care in the area is of great importance. Rockport, TX has many new developments and one of the health care agencies serving this area has announced their partnership with WebVMC, developer of a system enabling true virtual medical care technology for remote disease management.
Corpus Christi Home Care (CCHC) serving Rockport, TX as well as other areas around Corpus Christi, listed the system’s affordability and the easy-to-use Web-based software as two reasons for selecting the WebVMC product for their telemonitoring solution.
“Additionally, we were impressed with the scope of peripherals WebVMC offered, especially the multi-language capabilities of the system and the capturing of data within minutes,” said Denise Zollicoffer, administrator at CCHC. “We realized that not only could we monitor a patient’s vital signs and provide educational content with this system, but we would have access to a disease management tool that enables us to provide the level of care our chronically ill patients require.”
Evy Gonzalez, RN, Director of Nursing at P.A.C.E. Health Care, also cited WebVMC’s innovation as a key contributing factor to its use of the RemoteNurse technology for their patients in the Rio Grande Valley region.
“We felt WebVMC was innovative and up to date with modern technology,” said Gonzalez. “Other appealing advantages are the different types of programs they offer that meet our clients' specific needs. The prompt results available via the Internet help prevent complications from chronic illness and identify early subtle changes in a patient’s condition. This helps us improve patients’ clinical outcomes and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations through early intervention.”
The easy-to-use WebVMC system monitors patients in the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no extra cost to patients, their families or physicians. Any abnormalities or deviations in a patient’s status are identified immediately and transmitted to the physician and/or caregiver so that interventions can occur well before a patient must be hospitalized.
“With 96 percent of home health users suffering from chronic illness, home care agencies need a comprehensive solution with the ability to manage patients from any location, at any time,” said Scott Sheppard, president and chief technology officer for WebVMC.
“We designed our system to serve as a link between patients and available community resources and we look forward to an increased number of new relationships with referral sources to continue our commitment to effectively meeting the demanding challenges of home care patients,” adds Bill Behnke, chief development officer of WebVMC.
